Designed for Modern Wire Rope Technology
Today’s standard wire ropes can carry loads up to 40% higher than wire ropes used only a few decades ago. As wire rope technology has evolved, wire ropes have become stronger and more specialised. Modern wire ropes require fastening solutions that match these developments. BG-100 was developed specifically to meet the demands of modern wire ropes while simplifying installation and improving fastening performance.
Only Two Clamps Per Fastening
With older and more basic types of wire clamps, between three and seven clamps may be required per fastening. BG-100 requires only two wire rope clamps for all dimensions.
Benefits of Using Fewer Clamps
- Faster installation
- Lower material costs
- Reduced maintenance
- Less space required on the wire rope
- Easier inspection
- Better overall economy
Thanks to the increased efficiency of each clamp, fewer clamps are required per fastening. This reduces both installation time and material consumption while providing a secure fastening solution.
Designed for Secure Wire Rope Fastening
BG-100 is based on IronGrip’s proven fastening technology. The clamp forces the wire rope into an S-shape, increasing friction without damaging the wire rope itself. This increases fastening efficiency while maintaining the integrity of the wire rope. The fully symmetrical design allows installation in any direction, reducing installation errors and simplifying mounting on site. Unlike many traditional wire rope clamps, BG-100 can be used regardless of whether the wire rope has a right-hand or left-hand lay.
Approved for Lifting Applications
BG-100 wire rope clamps have been tested by accredited bodies according to EN 13411-3:2004 and are approved for general lifting applications up to strength class 1960 N/mm². For lifting applications, two BG-100 wire rope clamps are used per fastening across all dimensions.
Always follow the mounting instructions and ensure that the wire rope is new and undamaged when the clamps are applied.
Applications
BG-100 is suitable for a wide range of lifting and fastening applications where secure wire rope fastening is required.
Typical applications include:
- Cranes
- Elevators and lifts
- Suspended loads
- Construction sites
- Industrial lifting systems
- Offshore installations
- Structural wire rope fastenings
- Bridges and infrastructure projects
Quality, Documentation and Traceability
BG-100 is manufactured according to IronGrip’s stringent quality requirements and ISO 9001 standards. The design and testing are thoroughly documented, and every wire rope clamp can be traced back to its manufacturing origin.
For projects where documentation, quality assurance and long-term reliability are important, BG-100 provides complete traceability and supporting documentation.
